What weight of wool is that one?

It looks to be some type of 12-16 oz wool, but I doubt it is 24 oz wool.

You would need to handle it, to be sure exactly what weight it is.

Your could guess, but that is only guessing and isn't as authentic as you could make it.

The M35 I have is from Trident. It isn't the uniform of our unit. My 43's are from Trident also.

A Trident gim? Well, there you go.

Those will hold up seen at a distance, but the cut of them isn't right, and those huge pockets are totally wrong, and the material isn't right either. The Trident ones are just flat khaki drill without the melange mixture (that's white flecks for you) in the fabric.

With regard to the wool - the point at issue was you didn't believe they were made from wool....

So, given time, the weight of the fabric I can find out, but I can tell you the one I wore at Borodino was like wearing a jumper, and the shinels we wore were as much for image as a practical necessity.

I'm not pushing anything - I originally suggested that material, because it was a heavy wool and someone in the States wouldn't have the hassle of ordering from overseas.

What's the weight of a P40 battledress compared with a P37 - dammed if I know, but I know what an original battledress looks like, and what a copy should look like.

I find it laughable when you're nit-picking about the material weight of a Militsya gim, yet there you are going to events in a gim that was put together as if it was a normal shirt and in material that will only stand up as authentic from a distance!

A farb, alright, if you say so - but if you call me a major league farb, that means that the reenactment tailors in Russia are also farbs, and the club leaders in Russia are farbs.

I think it's pretty evident by now that Martin doesn't like some folks here, and I think it's pretty obvious that there are those here that do not like Martin. Sadly, the only activity I've seen on this board in the past week is said group pissing on or pissing off Martin, and Martin's rants towards said group. It's painfully obvious that neither side is going to get anywhere, nor do I think they really want to.
When someone decides to post something constructive again that I can use to advance my RKKA impression, could you let me know? In the meantime, I guess I'll go work on my German impression.

It has indeed become a train wreck and quite an interference of some real good stuff that does and can take place here!

I have said it before just ignore it, but the best way to keep EVERYONE from getting sidetracked into the train wreck is to keep it from being possible.

Yes as the poll sugguests I believe the only way for us to keep on track, and avoid him dragging us into his discussions is to take away his ability to be able to communicate with us at all.

I would hate to bar guests who really want to learn and are curious. But I think its for the better, that way we can learn more and discuss more. As I am sure guests come to our site and see us just fighting with Martin and turn away anyway. B/c they believe us all to be a big bunch of fighting children.

So in the end, I believe it should be done away with. To get him to bugger off.

Well Baiyodya, for all appearances, you are a bunch of fighting children. From what I can see that is all that you, Zayats, and Volodymyr have done here for the past few days. Martin has already said that he only shows up when you talk about him. Well . . . there's your solution. If all of you would just quit talking about him, he will go away. What good has any of this accomplished? Nothing. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not here to bash your or anyone else's right to free speech here. However, as you said, others will come here (I have recommended the site to many) and they will see little more than middle school girl drama. For myself, I get enough of that at work everyday since I teach middle school students.
Surely to goodness all of you have better things to do with your time that talk smack about Martin, no? Quit talking about him and he will leave you/us alone. It's simple.
Whether I like, love, or detest Martin is immaterial in all of this. I can say this, if there was a forum where the most popular postings were those in which I got bashed, I be over there in a second pestering the daylights out of them.
I may or may not have issues with Martin, but they will be between Martin and me. If you have a personal issue with the guy, do us all a favor and take it off forum. I know from his past experience Dima will not censure anyone on here, and I don't blame him. I have no authority to tell anyone what to do either, and I'm not telling anyone here what to do, I'm asking.
