I was wondering if any knew if these particular telogrekias are period and correct and if not, can they be corrected? Here's the link to them, they are only 100 bucks for the whole ensemble padded jacket and pants, plus 40 shipping. That's why I would like to know becuase Trident's are 200 just for the jacket. soviet-power.com/detail.php?pid=1496If anyone can help me out here that would be great, since all I need to complete my impression is my winter wear. Well, looks like the midwar model to me. Matches up with what Trident has. Maybe the buttons are wrong or something.
My big consistent problem is that I'm a 46 chest and their XL is only 44.

When they list something on that site as a 46 is that like our 46 or is that exterior measurement like the Chinese measure theirs... (so that they end up being much smaller)
Sov-power does have some shinels in 46... has anyone bought stuff from them? I think I got a medal from them and it was okay but I have yet to buy any clothing from them.

Tovarisch Sasha;
The model you referenced is very similar to mine. Efreiter Petrov is correct, the buttons are different, but close enough for now. My buttons are a green plate style buttons, those appear to be black plastic.
As to rank on the telogrika, there doesn't seem to be a firm policy, as I have seen some pictures with rank on the telogrika jacket, and others without, and even pictures with a mixture in the same unit.
My units SOP is that rank on the telogrika is not required. A soldat may install it, if he/she wants to, but it is not required. In my unit, if a soldat chooses to wear it, then they are to wear the M-43 style rank, IE a pogori, with your branch insignia on the pogori, just like on the gymnastiorka.

Thanks guys! Appreciate the help, so pretty much all that would eventually need to be changed would be the buttons? Or were there any other things wrong with this particular telogrekia? If not I plan on ordering one.

Without having one of his in my hands, I can not say for absolute certain, but the buttons seemed to be a glaring example of an error. However, that is not to say that some didn't go to the field with black plastic style buttons. B&W pictures make it difficult to be absolutely certain.
I would say for the price, order a set, and see what you get.
Then let us all know, plus if you post pics, then we can all see for certain.

Tovarisch Sasha, Replacing buttons is easy. If these guys say go for it, I'd say it's a safe bet. We can surely find some kind of replacement buttons that will work.

Would they have ever had the metal rounded buttons with the hammer and sickle on them?
Are the buttons on yours Otryada Serzhant metal or plastic?
I have a postwar gas mask bag with black painted metal 4 hole buttons... these may have those kinda buttons as its a postwar telogreika... if the buttons are the same as Otryada Serzhants you might be able to take them off, scrap them and repaint the buttons the correct pale green color... if that would be correct... just speculating at this point...

Yes, I have ordered the telogrekia and the pants as well. Along with some buttons from Ostfront. So I will let you guys know what it's like since it is a good deal.

BTW, does anyone wear a telogrika under their shinel? If so, how much larger size shinel do you wear with the telogrika under it, than with just a shinel?
