Tovarischi,
As many of you know I have been searching out and then re-creating the labels used on canned food sent from the US to the USSR as well as Soviet food labels.
I became tired of seeing made up labels being sold and or posted for use by RKKA re-enactors. I figured we can do better.
I am posting pdf versions of these labels on the Dimas archives website as I get time. The ones I post are not made up labels but copies of originals.
So far I have found originals for 3 diferent cans of Tushonka, 1 can of sliced bacon, Spam, 1 can whole milk powdered and 1 can of Broadcast chopped ham.
I still have a can of yeast to re-create its label as well as another can of spiced meat.
The latest one is from a stash of cans found in a lend lease P-39 AirCobra which crashed landed in a Russian lake during the war.
It is Pork Tushonka and it was packed by the Deerfoot Farms Co. of Southboro, Massachusetts.
I plan to get it uploaded next week as time permits.
I love it when we are able to find the real stuff vs making crap up.
The work continues.
Sincerely,
Dima 9th Airborne

Tovarisci, Exactly! I have re-created that label which is from the Kroger company as well as labels from the Emge & Sons, Venice and the deerfoot companies. Spam and other labels can be found there as well. The labels I have re-created are all from originals not made up ficticious makers or products. The labels I have made are on the "Dimas Archives" site: groups.yahoo.com/group/Dimasarchive/The food label pdfs can be found under the "Files" section under "labels" and then "food" and you will see all of the labels I have uploaded. I still need to upload the Deerfoot Tushinka label yet. Enjoy! Sincerely, Dima 9th Airborne Brigade

Dima, I found this site by accident a few months ago. After seeing this post I though I might ask your opinion on their products.
Respectfully, Cesar Nolla

reprorations.com/Russia%20WW2/Russia%20WW%202.htm - a very funny resource) almost everything is a fantasy or a mistake, and the correct label (one!) is placed on the wrong bank. I am a rector of the Red Army from Russia, specializing in signal corps. labels on food products of the Red Army is a big problem, but if you need help in this matter - write to kopunit@yandex.ru
