Battle for East Prussia AAR Overall, I think the day went very well. There were the CF’s like at any event, but being a first time at this venue, I believe that can be excused. There were about 60 participant at the event. about a 2 to 1 German to Soviet/Pole/Partisan ratio. Hats off to Wiking and GD5th who showed up with squad and squad + size elements. I Believe that the Das Reich also had a good turnout. It was impressive viewing from the "other" side to see how the German units moved. For the most part the moved very well and were effective in their missions. The 95th Rifles had a small contingent with some other unit members and a few partisans. They were moved moved around quite a bit but took it in stride, obeying orders like all good troops should do. The 1st Polish army brought the heat with a lot of semi autos. The are a great looking unit with lots to bring to events in which they attend. The safety at the event was very good especially around the buildings with a few minor exceptions. I appreciated how the WWII infantryman moved in the winter. The deep snow in spots caused some slogging. It was tough to "sneak" up, or charge the enemy when the snow seemed to just take out some of the fight in you. Over all, I believe the event was successful and look forward to hosting events here in the future. Thanks to all that attended. DL 709th Inf. This was my first outing with the Great Peasant and Workers army! The site is wonderful and a perfect place to do smaller tacticals. It is great to have actual buildings to work in for a change, although all on ground floor, parts of it had that "Stalingrad" feel to it. Thanks to the 95th Rifles for letting us FJ's swing Soviet for a change and to the 709. Infantry for hosting it. Here are some pics, you get a good look at the snow that General Winter provided for us. s183.photobucket.com/albums/x308/historymuseum2000/East%20Prussia%20event/Lev
