Were there any nutritional manuals for the RKKA ? or was it basically plunder and roadkill and whatever was made available by logistics branch. Also, as a society run by atheists, would they have ever dealt with religious hygene food laws for the troops like the juden and muslims have, or would it have been 'eat what we give you or go without' ?
My guess is you ate what you were given or could scrounge for in the field or got sent from home while in the RKKA and that was that.

I'm no expert, but all of the reading I have done indicates the above. The author of "Red Road from Stalingrad" did not indicate that any special consideration was given to him, a Muslim, as such.
