Sasha, I hear you comrade. I sent mine in, the check dated Feb 21 hasn't even been cashed. I wonder what's up with that. Guess they don't need the money. Later -dave

They are not renewing the Red Army re-enactors?
I don't know, but I have been hearing rumors (yeah, I know about rumors) that some of the umbrella groups are beginning to try to distance themselves from us "Commies".
Why they don't have the same, or even more concern about the German (Nazi) re-enactors is beyond me.

Tovarischi,
I finally got mine but it took forever!
Most of our Soviet unit have their cards at this point but it took us a long time to get them.
The excuse is lack of man power at the HRS BOD level.
With the new election of a secretary things should get quicker....maybe.
LOL!
Sincerely,
Dima

I should get on here more often. There is absolutely no effort to distance the HRS from Soviet units. I think this year I have seen a fair amount of growth in numbers and weapons beyond the MN91. That is great! More! More! More! BA64s! More! About memberships yes there have been a number of problems but most are taken care of quickly if they are made known to me. If there are still problems please email me. We do have a new Secretary and no Treasurer as of yet but there are a couple of people interested. I am looking into their qualifications. Again, there is no truth to the rumor about shying away from Commies...I mean Soviet units. Please join the HRS if you feel your unit is pushed out of whatever organization you belong to. Tovarisch Ivan,
So when are you gonna suit up as a Frontovik and come play with us?
You have a Soviet kit...........so why not use it?
Sincerely,
Dima

Hmmmm. Good point! I still need a pilotka but size gigantor like either a 60 or 61. I have not looked real hard but I have not found one that fits yet. Also, I need a MN90/30 as I think a MN91 would not do. Not too difficult and I am hoping to finish these out this winter. I do need a messtin. At some point I will get one of those shovel sized spoons since you can get more borscht in your mouth with one of those. MMMM! So that is my problem. Interestingly enough I have equipped two other comrades with uniforms I have purchased that turned out not to fit. So, send me some emails or PMs with inexpensive offers of the items I need! ;D ;D ;D
Comrade Ivan Tarawovich
PS - The HRS wants you!

Tovarisch Tarawovich, Ahhhhh....so you have been teasing me with your comments about wanting to come out and play Soviet yet you are not equipped yet. You devil you. Dima will change this. You are in luck tovarisch. All that you seek is within your grasp and as you have admitted you just need to look harder. None of the equipment you seek is hard to find nor expensive. After ll it is Soviet. LOL! The Mosin 91/30 rifles and M-38 carbines are plentiful and can be found at very affordable prices in our region. You just need to look. Perhaps you are looking at around $150.00 give or take. I just did a quick look and I found several places on line who list Pilotkas in sizes up to and larger than the 60/61 you spoke of. Here is one whom I have dealt with before and only $20.00 and free shipping to boot. www.russianarmysurplus.com/military.php?gid=91Mess kit? Here is one from the same place at $20.00 and free shipping. www.russianarmysurplus.com/military.php?gid=15As for a spoon those are a hit and miss item if you are referring to the ethnic style large scoop. However, it must be remembered that the RKKA issued several styles of spoon during the war and some of those styles are easy to find here in the states. I have both the ethnic as well as more common styles. Now that Dima has you pointed in the right direction I expect you to be ready for field operations by spring of 2010. Otherwise we will see you in the ditch. LOL! See you in the field! Sincerely, Dima

Tovarisch Tarawovich, I seriously doubt that if you show up at an event with a Mosin-Nagant Model 91 you would be turned away. While there are certainly differences between the M91 and M91/30, the differences are not great. Whittaker's in Owensboro still has some, if memory serves, for $89.95, not a lot of money for a rifle. In addition to the supplier that Dima noted for you, I have always had great luck out of Collect Russia for pilotkas, and sundry items of field gear. Sometimes they are a little on the high side, but they have great customer service. www.collectrussia.com/Do not let the perceived shortcomings in your impression keep you from taking the field! The Motherland needs all of her sons and daughters to answer the call! Yuri

Tovarischi,
Besides this is information which can be of use not only to Tarawovich but also to Conley as he assembles his impression.
It is worth noting that according to Tovarisch Sluss this website is of no use to him yet he continues to stop in on a regular(almost daily) basis to see what is going on. Evidently there must be something on here that interests him.
So in the interests of furthering the hobby let me say..............Hi Conley! Glad to see you are still alive and visiting this worthless site. LOL!
Sincerely,
Dima

Tovarisch Dima! It must be noted that many, if not all, of these dealers DO NOT take pirated copies of movies in trade for goods. Neither do they take patterns pirated off of Russian websites. They require cash.

Comrade Ivan, Despite what the hated fascists say, we are a very helpful and friendly lot. Please contact any of us, here or off forum if you have any questions. We want more brothers to join us in this struggle!
