Tovarisch,
That is quite the rig!!! Thank you very much for posting it!!!!
You know my daughters have been pestering me to get a dog.
This might be the perfect way to get this sort of impression going.
What breeds of dogs were used for this purpose?
Sincerely,
Dima

All the documentation I have seen shows pictures of German Shepard type dogs.
The operation didn't work very well, as the dogs were trained by feeding them under tanks, getting them used to seeking food under a tank. Unfortunately the Russians used their own tanks for this training, and, well, you guessed it, in combat, the dogs would seek out, and run under, Soviet tanks, and, that wasn't the plan. The Soviets ended up killing all the dogs (that were left), and abandoning the project.

Tovarisch, Can you pass along the documentation you found regarding use of German shepherds? Maybe it will help me find out more regarding breeds. I haven't found a lot on the subject but what I have found shows a wide variety of dogs being used. groups.yahoo.com/group/Dimasarchive/photos/album/1036520661/pic/listI cannot tell what breeds of dogs are in these photos. Help? Sincerely, Dima

That is very interesting. I think it would be a great impression to see. I'm interested in hearing more on this comrades.

Devyn, do you want to do an impression as an anti-tank dog? It will be cheaper than being a rifleman. ;D Yuri S.

DA! I'm hairy enough....I'd probably look more like your regular Red Army Komrade Sasquatch, or as i call it the RAKS. Its a new group of RKKA memebers who are to (a. cheap to buy the stuff, or b. to poor) and exhibit a large amount of body hair.
