Here is the initial battle announcement for the Fall Grenada, MS event.

Russian Front Battle

1) When: November 16-18th, 2007
2) What: Classical Tactical event
3) Theme: RUSSIAN FRONT
4) Where: Grenada Lake, Hugh White State Park, Grenada, MS
5) Who can come: Germans and Russian impressions for (at this time) generic Russian Front event-- more details soon--
6) Cost: TBA
7) Battles: Saturday AND Sunday AM
8) Vendors welcome? YES
9) Food? Strong probability of food vending on site
10) Camping? Rustic, with water, port-a-lets

More details as they develop. This event will probably be held in a new area of the park-- pending site visits. We anticipate a spring event to be held at Camp McCain in Feb/March of 2008 (just south of Grenada, MS). That event will be Western Front.

Friday (Nov. 16)
1200 - 2200 hrs Registration

Saturday (Nov. 17)
0600 - 0845 Registration
0800 - 0830 Commanders Meeting
0830 - 0845 Safety Briefing
0845 - 0900 Units move into their initial positions
0900 - 1200 1st Scenario starts
1200 - 1300 Cease fire/Lunch
1300 - 1600 2nd Scenario starts
1600 Saturday battle ends

Sunday (Nov. 18)
0800 - 0830 Commanders meeting
0830 - 0845 Safety Briefing
0845 - 0900 Units move to start positions
0900 - 1030 Battle starts
1030 Sunday battle ends

Parking will be available for vehicles of any size.

Scenarios will consist of time sensitive objectives. We will try to make things interesting for all.

Dealers - Wephaus and CCYDNE are confirmed with at least one more coming. There should be enough extra gear and uniforms available to outfit almost anyone.

Cost -- $15 (provides for Portalets and donuts/coffee (Saturday))

Currently looking at roughly a 50/50 mix of both Soviet and Axis (with a slight advantage going to the Soviets!).

Here are some directions...

Take Interstate 55 to Grenada Exit 206 (Hwy 8). Take the exit into Grenada and head EAST on Hwy 8 East.

Take Hwy 8 East until you see a sign for Hwy 333 (Grenada Lake/Hugh White State Park). (Note: If I recall correctly, this is a left-hand, dog-leg turn in front of an old green painted building-- it's a small sign, so watch closely).

Continue on Hwy 333 over the dam and take the first left
after you get off the dam. You will begin to see signs directing you to the event. About 50-60 yards after you make the turn-off will be the enterence to the site on your right.

UPDATE!!!!!

The National Weather Service has predicited that the weather for Friday Night will be Partly Cloudy with a low of about 44 degrees and Saturday will be about 69 degrees with 5-10 mph winds and Partly Sunny.
Saturday night will be about 45 degrees and Sunday will be just like Saturday.
