Notice to All reenactors This past weekend the officers of the TSG held a meeting with several hours of serious deliberation concerning our upcoming event schedule. "Due to several regional conflicts with the traditional date of our annual Camp Atterbury event and several new and exciting opportunities for the TSG, we have decided it is in the best interest for the TSG to reschedule our national battle." With the new date, a new Location will be used as well. The 2006 TSG National Battle will be held Dec.1-3 at Ft.Campbell KY. This will be a Preregistration event. I will have the forms posted to the TSG website download section shortly. In addition to the traditional tactical we are planning several other activities for the weekend. For the static displays the base museum has made itself available for inside displays. Of course all reenactors may visit the museum free of charge. We are also working on a USO dance for Sat.night as well. Watch the TSG website www.20thctsg.org for event updates. If you have any questions please contact me. Thanks Mike Lipe President 20thCTSG lordkalel@qconline.com

Yeah, that date just sucks for the organizers (2nd Rangers) of the St. Louis River Front battle at Fort Belafontaine. They've been planning their event for over a year. Guess they don't count.
If I can get off drill that weekend, I'll be at the St. Louis battle.

Mike,
Is this event Russian friendly? Or strictly for the western front types?

Dave, The Sat. battle is a western front event. However if my comrads from the frozen wastes would like to come down to partisipate as umpires+ staff I would gladly give you all a free pass. We also have the oppertunity to fight on sunday which we could do as a east meets west theme if there is enough intrest. Volker

This following post was on another forum....... But I thought that I would put it here as well.... :DOh man that's such a softball I almost can't resist to swing at it But i will. Dave ------------------------------------------------- No, it is charging $5 less for it's members, or people that join the TSG at the event. What can I say, I'm a glass half full kind of guy. ;D It's actually a pretty nice deal for their members, in my book. Most national organizations don't give you much more than a newsletter. Sani Dave: I can't and I will........ The HRF did this back in the early 1980s and the HRS did it in the late 1980s. All it did was make non-members of the organization angry and stay away. The "official" TSG website has yet to state that non-members who don't belong to a "officially" recognized organization will be allowed to attend. There's no guarantee that what is said on this or any other forum is "correct." If the TSG website says that non-members must pay more and if you don't belong to a recognized organization you can't play. The websites of these reenacting organizations are supposed to be the "voice" of these groups, so don't believe everything that is said elsewhere. One question that is still in many minds (including mine) is if you join the TSG at the gate (to avoid having to pay the non-member "surcharge") is this membership good only for the remainder of 2006 or is it for 2007? If it's only for 2006, then it's cheaper to just pay the "surcharge." If it's for 2007, then it's an easy way for the TSG to fill it's coffers. What the TSG is doing is not illegal, not wrong, not below-board. But it's not good policy or "non-member" friendly to all the other reenacting organizations out there. In the end, it will be up to the individual reenactor to decide if they want to attend, or not. Jay

This clashes with the St. Louis River Battle.
Looks like I'm going to MO rather than KY.

All: Well, after much posting, the TSG "High Command" has finally come out on their website and stated the "official" truth. If you read it real closely, you will notice that they took words directly from my posts. And it has definitely helped me make my mind up on where I'm going on the first weekend of December. Jay
