I just read a book called dr. at stalinggrad.
In this book the german Dr. mentions a russian Dr. showing him a map with black areas on it. these ares seemed to extend out from major roads and railways toward settlments. it seemed that the russians were paranoid about typhoid in this book. The black area were areas where the disease spread through the country when the soldiers were returning home from the war (WWI).
I have seen nothing else on this. I know it is not really ww2 realated, but why would they have used maps that old?
My writsts are quite bad and searching the internet for long periods is hard. If anyone has anyinformation to direct me to i would be quite appreciative.
