I got my Romanian Tokarev converted to a Russian TT now. It was great to get a 1936 Russian slide. Trying to swap the firing pin and extractor out of my Romanian slide proved to be harder than anticipated. The firing pin went great but the extractor would not come out, in fact I ruined 2 punches in the failed attempted. I finally ordered a new extractor and put it in. There was a lot of fitting to get everything adjusted correctly and Brian did a great job in that department. The Russian slide would not use the same orifice size as my Romania so after experimentation and R&D I came up with a size of .160. Even with that as with all blank guns 100% function just isn’t there but I can go through several mags without any jams or problems and maybe have a jam for whatever reason occasionally. It is really neat to now have a 1936 “Russian Tokarev TT”, well kind of . The blanks work great and are made out of .223 cases and are relatively cheap at around $12 per 100 but then that is the same cost for making the PPsh blanks too. Plenty boom boom and at a cheap price. Those of you that are not making your own blanks are sure missing the boat and are paying 3 times the cost and shoot 3 times less. The TT project was a fun project. Check out the video for taking the TT apart if you haven’t seen it yet. www.youtube.com/watch?v=skZQzrImOCo

Tovarisch;
Where did you pick up your slide?
How did you remove, and eliminate the hole from the safety switch on the Romanian lower?
What calibre barrel are you using for the blanks?

Thanks for posting this. I have always loved these pistols, but have never owned one.

Boridin I got the slide from Squirrelly, I think he is on this sight some. In fact I got 2 Russian slides from him the 1936 and 1943, I think. They can also be found on Gun Broker and other auction sites. As yet I have not eliminated the safety yet however there is a video on You Tube on how to do it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=-K4tZ0mIfoM The caliber of barrel is the original, 7.62x25. I purchased a second barrel as I was still wanting to shoot live rounds through it. Again blanks are very cheap to make. I use a shorter blank than the regular PPsh blanks. I make these myself from .223 brass and a set of dies from C-H www.ch4d.com/ Having a Russian TT just looks super cool and it works great with live ammo and using the blank barrel it works great with blanks. Tovarisch Sasha; Want to sell the 43 slide? Boridin It has already been sold to another member of the 416th. I must say that the Russian slide has a really neat look to it. If I had a 3rd slide I would sell but sorry, I only had 2. You might check Gun Broker. Sasha
