Tovarischi,
I had purchased the 8 volume series from glantz.
It is titled "Memories of War: The Experiences of Red Army Veterans of the Great Patriotic War."
It has a lot of interesting details which contradict a lot of what the "know-it-alls" of the hobby profess to be the truth.
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sincerely,
Dima (Listen to the Vets...the were there.)

Dima, Where did you purchase these? I can't find them on Amazon, and my local bookstores in Clarks-Vegas, TN won't have them (Borders and BAM).

Tovarisch Horsesoldier, Take some time and look around this forum and you will find what you seek. Search more on the Web and you will find even more. Since I started my adventure into RKKA re-enacting it didn't take long to find holes in some of the SOP of re-enactors. It showed me that a lot of folks have not been doing their homework. More specifically though quotes from the Memories of War series can be found in the thread on captured weapons use. Several sources are listed in that thread. You will also found excellent excerpts from the book 800 days on the Eastern front, etc. A lot of good primary sources are available on the web as well as in these books. More excerpts regarding food, combat, misc. activities, etc will be forthcoming. Thus far I have spent considerable time and money acquiring the various books and manuals that I have been quoting excerpts from and or posting on the web at Dimas Archives. However, I always urge folks to aid in furthering the research by spending a little of their own cash and time acquiring and reading the available sources of primary information. Many hands make light work. Perhaps you have recently acquired some good reference material you would like to share on the forum? Sincerely, Dima
