Tovarisch;
I do not know for Home Depot, but 1944 Militaria has a custom paint "Moss Green", which is a correct color for 1940 to 1942. He also has the data for a correct color "Medium Green" which is correct for late 42 to well into the 70s.
Last time I spoke to Drew (owner of 1944 Militaria), he had produced the Moss green, but not yet produced the medium green.

Nope Doug, the only things I've had to repaint so far have been a helmet for a friend, and I used the 1944 militaria paint. I know there is a thread on the WWII Proboards, if memory serves, on this, but it down in there deep.

I used the Testors Model Masters 1911 OD green for my helmet...nice! It might be a quicker(if you can find it locally) and less expensive alternative to 1944 Militaria but, Borodin's advice is VERY sound! Eric

I spoke to Drew (1944 Militaria) on Saturday 29/01/2011, at the Battle of the Bulge event at FIG, and we discussed the Red Army paints he has, and we discussed his beginning production of the Medium green, which is what most people think of as the Red Army green as it was used from late 42 into the 70s. Whereas the Moss green was only used for about two and a half years.
If you want to encourage Drew, I suggest you e-mail him, and ask him to produce the Soviet Medium Green.

There is also the Testors Flat Medium Green that works well.
Looking forward to seeing Drew's medium green.
