Are there any markings on this contraption?
Are we sure this is a radio? REceiver / transmitter?
Based upon other equipment I have looked over this has the look of equipment dating back to the 1920s and even earlier.
Let me do some digging.

That is the only pic my father got. I asked for additional pics, and any info on data plates, so lets see what he comes up with next month.
