Tovarischi;
I have been in discussion with a friend from another forum about the proper shade of brown for the enlisted rank stripes on the M-43 pogori, for technical MOS'.
As we all know, the rank stripes for combat arms MOS's are red on field, and bright yellow on dress, and walking out dress pogori.
The question becomes exactly what is the shade of brown used for medical, and non-combat arms branches. Since most "real" units have non combat arms troops assigned, such as cooks, clerks, commo, quartermasters, medical, in my units case, veterinary service troops, some of our unit member will be wearing their proper rank, but should be in brown stripes, rather than red. I need any information you might have to give me the correct shade.

Here are pictures from my friends collection (of pictures) of brown rank stripes for technical MOS's. Technical MOS Capitan, assigned to an Infantry Regiment Mladishi Serzhant of Commo (the stripes appear to be a dirty red in this picture, but my friend said that in person they were clearly a reddish brown, not the normal red) These pogori are in a display in a military museum in Moscow. Not sure exactly what this pogori is, but my friend is sure it is Red Army from the GPW. I am thinking it might have been a Starshina, but the horizontal stripe fell off, or was removed. All these stripes are a shade of brown, and are therefore non combat arms MOS pogori. Boridin

I can't see the pix here, please to be sending them Komrade to my email as jpg's if at all possible! Should my next set be this color or should I stick with the blue ones I have been wearing thus far?

Spatula Serzhant;
As I have explained before, you wear the blue rank stripes, because your current rank is brevet, not regimental. Once you complete the necessary unit training, you will assume regimental rank. In your case, because your MOS is a technical MOS, you will go to brown rank stripes, not red. Like you, Petrov, and Halletskoya will wear brown stripes, I just want to make sure I get, and use the correct shade of brown for those stripes.
