You people are Funny ! Real soldiers / do as thy are told ! = now let see you add some thing to this -but BS ! as I know you have a box of metals for your Combat actions ! OK, let us analyze this post. 1: "Real soldiers / do as thy are told !" Spoken like a person who has absolutely 0 (zero) military experience. Generally, soldiers do follow orders, but most Armies (even the Red Army) did realize that field initiative was as much a part of being a soldier, as following orders. Wasting ones command for no valid military gain is a Court Martial offense in all Armies, regardless of "orders". 2: "as I know you have a box of metals for your Combat actions !" I do have a box of metal from my military/combat actions. It contains the shrapnel, pieces of rock, and bullets removed from me by surgeons. I also have the pieces of bone removed from me in a small silver veil as well. While you may not understand this, it is an ancient tradition going back to some of the earliest soldiers. The Romans in particular were big believers in saving those parts (not soft tissue) of your body that have been removed. This belief goes to the old faith that an incomplete body could not ascend to heaven. While I do not truly believe that God will deny me entry into heaven for missing parts of bones, etc, I do accept the old tradition of saving ones parts. (soft tissue excluded) There is even evidence that Red Army, German, and even U.S. troops tended to follow this tradition as well. A neighbor has the items sent back to her parents when her brother (A U.S. Infantryman) was KIA in the ETO. One item is a small silver veil, on a leather thong he wore around his neck, inside which are several bone chips from his right foot, and three small pieces of steel, from when he had surgery for a shrapnel wound. Soldiers are very superstitious, and often follow what many non-soldiers consider irrational traditions. Many of the older troops I served with also had similar small silver veils on leather thongs around their necks. I never asked why, because I knew. I have such a veil. Many combat veterans also have something along these lines. Conley, you may laugh, and that is fine, but you claim you are here to learn, so learn, and stop attacking, or insulting others who have a different opinion than you.

Leshod,
don't bother responding to this brain dead moron, cave-man slush. When you wrestle with a pig, you both get dirty and the pig likes it.
Cave-man/con-man slush is just looking to start a fight here for no other reason than to start a fight, he has no real world military experience, unlike you or me and is talking out his butt. Either of us drunk make more sense than he does in whatever state of mind he calls 'sobriety', so don't waste time responding to this loser, he is worthless. It is almost like he is 2 people, he posts a few good bits of info from time to time, but as soon as he writes anything he becomes a complete babbling moron who is prone to lying, accusations, insults, bad spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
Ugga wugga caveman! I won't bother responding to you anymore, but I had to warn off Bruce (Leshod) because he is a good hearted guy and has held out some hope for you. I have none for you. You are unreachable.
If I could find a font that would translate English into cave paintings then maybe I could communicate with you, but I doubt that or a series of animalistic grunts would reach you either, and I won't bother to lower myself to that.
Personally I think he is a paid informant and troublemaker.

Tovarischi,
As many of you know I am not not one for censoring, micro managing or other heavy handed actions on this forum.
I leave that for the folks over on the other forums.
I would like ot think that we are adults on this board and we can agree to disagree on topics without getting stupid.
However, there is a time and a place for folks to revert back to our less civilized personas and this area of the forum IS NOT IT!!!!
Knock off foolish sniping in this and other research areas!!!!
If you got a beef then take it to the "HEATED DISCUSSIONS" section or off the board.
For Pete's sake act like adults.
Sincerely,
Dima

Dima;
Of course you are correct, and I apologize to any here who were offended by my return fire.
I do however stand by my initial statement that attacking tanks with lances, regardless of how "Brave" it may be, is not only pointless (as it clearly was in the instance we have been discussing), but is a criminal waste of military resources, and assets.
That having been said, is anyone on this forum considering putting together a Polish/Red Army impression?
I would be interested in hearing about your efforts.

If you check the unit lists on Stavka, At the Front, and elsewhere, you will find at least one unit out there doing Polish/RKKA I believe.

Tovarischi,
There is a really good unit out of the Chicago area.
No, not the Lancers! I said a good unit! LOL!
They are a unit which portrays Eastern Front Polish infantry serving in the Red Army.
Excellent impression with neat toys. Great bunch of guys!
They have served with us in the field at several events.
Sincerely,
Dima

Dima;
Do they have a website that you know of?
If so, do you happen to know the URL?
Not that I am interested in picking up another impression, just like to see what others are doing.

Otryada Serzhant,
there is also a Polish cav unit in Poland that I have seen doing charges at East Front events over there, sabers drawn (from pix on the web)... I may still have a couple pix of them somewhere on a flash drive, if you want I can dig them up and sent them to you.

Tovarischi,
I have an email address for one of the Chicago fellows in their unit. Rafael is his first name I believe.
I will dig it up and PM it to you.
Sincerely,
Dima

Tovarischi;
Thank you both!
I have a link to the website of the Polish Lancer unit in Poland. Conley actually posted it above, and it is very interesting.
I would be glad to get in touch with Rafael if you can find it Dima, if for no other reason than to make contact with another Cavalry unit.
