Wish I was in a class 3 state and could get a REAL one! that would be AWESOME. Vlad Well the last PPSh-41 I saw for sale (real/original) was over $25,000.00 for the weapon, sling, cleaning kit, and three mags. I haven't seen a PPs-43 in several years, but no doubt they would be salty too! Boridin

Well, I know some people who "poo-poo" semi-auto smg's and gas-guns, but let's face it: we live in times where even if you could afford it, you wouldn't want to take it out, BFA the firearm, etc. I'm seriously thinking of getting a DP28 gas gun from Katya. Some purists may not like it, but then I don't have that kind of budget.
Yuri Who owns a semi-auto PPS43 and likes it.

We are considering one of the semi auto dp28's if they are still available
my experience with gas guns is they are okay if mounted to a vehicle, but a pain in the butt, and prone to mechanical problems if you try to hump them all over God's green acre.
I saw a semi auto ppsh-43 at Odessa a couple weeks ago and it looked like some kinda tricked out Ruger-10-22 with that extra long barrel sticking out of the barrel shroud... I hate to say that it looked kinda foolish and wasn't very loud either.
just my 2 kopeks... but I do understand the tardo batfe environment we live in with the tards in congress and the pimp house, er, I mean, used ta be White House...
VOTE IN 2010 to kick the bastards out!!!

Vlad That goofy 16 1/4 inch barrel sticking out the front of any of the semis is why I would spend the extra money, and time to get an SBR version. The gas gun is a good compromise, IF the weapon is belt fed, so you can hide the fuel bottles, and hoses. For a DP/DT-28, I just don't see how you could ever make it passable (esthetically), unless as Vlad says, you vehicle mount it. The problem with the semi DP-28s, is the same problem with the semi PPSh-41, and PPs-43. They are all produced by Wise Lite Arms, and sold through MGS. If you have any problems with them, you better have the patience of a saint, because it will take you many months, phone calls, and more money to get them corrected. As to blanks in most weapons, you will rarely get good sound, simply because of how a blank works, as compared to a live round. Boridin

Katya hides small bottles for the DP in a meshok. The hoses have a "cover" of khaki webbing material near the shade of our uniforms. When it is on the ground, the meshok is thrown to the side, and the hosed come up through the bottom.

To be sure different blanks sound different. The PPSH-41 one of my soldats had at Odessa this month sounded great, but for some reason the long barrel one another guy had sounded wanky... coulda been the extra barrel length, coulda been the ammo, not sure. I agree that getting the SBR permit is best, but here in the humanoid repooblik of not so New York class 3 items are Constitutionally deprived by the entrenched enemy lawyers coven of mishappen golem.
The 272 has a mg34 with a similar arrangement, with the bottles in a backpack and the tubes hidden by a stretch of dummy rounds in a belt, and the fire control mechanism in an ammo can.
Moving around with it is a major pain in the butt, and that is when it tends to break down, but if left in a static position its okay.

This is why I would love to see the constitution honored, instead of what we do have, but that is not my point.
I would like to be able to have newly manufactured class III PPSh-41, PPs-43, etc, etc. I think that if the constitution was actually obeyed, someone would be willing to produce them, and they wouldn't be so darn expensive!

Tovarischi,
After much tweaking and a few trips back to the manufacturer my semi-auto PPSH 41 rocks pretty darn good. We now have 5 of them in our unit as well as the semi-auto DP-28 and a semi-auto PPS-43
I make my own blanks for far less than the vendors are charging and they sound real good. I am able to fire as much as I want without fear of high ammo costs.
Yuri has heard it and can attest to its robust fire.
Sadly since I live in the Peoples Republic of Illinois I have the 16" barrel and shroud model. Looks good and unless it is next to a proper length 41 is hard to spot.
I wish the citizens of the USA would get involved in their governments activities and take back their government and adhere to the Constitution. We have nobody to blame but ourselves for letting politiicans gain the control over our lives they have.
In the mean time I will have to enjoy my long barrel 41.
Sincerely,
Dima

Sincerely, Dima Not trying to drag this thread off into politics, but it seems to me, that the sheeple of this nation are finally starting to awaken. I think the tea parties, and other events of that type are beginning to really concern the elitist government class. How soon it will make a difference, and if the citizens will remain vigilant is a matter for debate elsewhere, but I think we may see some changes soon, just how much, and for how long is for the future to tell us. Comrade Sgt., I am afraid that our countrymen's attention span is too short for it to make a difference. I would be tickled to be wrong on this though.

Comrade Sgt., I am afraid that our countrymen's attention span is too short for it to make a difference. I would be tickled to be wrong on this though. Yuri Tovarisch boyesh; One year ago, I would have agreed with you, but the fact that we have had tea parties in April, and again in September, and smaller ones throughout the summer, and that they are growing in size, and scope causes me to suspect that something deeper has been struck here. I think an increasing number of U.S. citizens are upset by what is being done to them, by the government/political machine. Politicians, and the increasingly fringe, (former main stream) media are desperately trying to ignore this, or make fun of it. The more they do that, the angrier they make the American people. I have had neighbors, whom I have known for 15 years, who never once expressed a political, social, or economic point of view before, come to me asking how they can register to vote, and what they can do to get involved in this 'situation" I see this as the awakening of the formerly silent majority. They are waking up, and they are pissed! I think 2010 could be a very interesting election in the U.S. Perhaps we should move this topic to Heated Discussions" Even though, it isn't heated, it is political, so perhaps it should go there!
